Trip Description : Morning depart for long-tail boat along the Maekok River about two hours via Karen Ruam- mitr village (Elephant Camp), Stop for lunch at a local restaurant before a visit to Wat Thaton, Continue to visit Padong hilltribe village (Karen Longneck) Padong women spend much time with their personal hygiene, carefully cleaning their necks by rubbing with a wet cloth without taking off any of the rings. They must not be removed other then when being exchanged for larger ones, or before childbirth. These exceptions apart, removing neck-rings could invoke punishment for a woman as in the case of someone who commits adultery. Return to Chiang Rai on the way stop to visit Akha and Yao hilltribe villages.
