Story of Us:
In 2000, I carried a 10kg camera from Taiwan to northern Thailand to film the local mountain tribes. When researching the remote mountains I found tribes which still lived in traditional houses on the banks of a mountain at the top of the hill I climbed, The distant river and mountains shimmered in the harsh sunlight.
In the valleys I saw traditionally dressed women carrying firewood and leading buffalo to homes with dark wood smoke spiraling to the sky. This simple and tranquil scene affected me deeply. I vowed one day to return and open a resort here.
Our resort is on the banks of the Mae Kok River, which gives life and beautiful scenery to the people here. There are six groups of hill tribes in the Northern-Thai area. Our resort was built to honor the lives of the nearest of the six tribes ¡V the Lahu. In Huai Khum Village you can learn about the Lahu culture and how they live.

Our goal is to give you an environment where you can relax and unwind. To meet this goal we first searched for a location that would take our guests as far away from the stress of modern life as possible. After much searching we finally chose a location on the banks of the beautiful Mae-Kok River in pristine Thai forest that has remained unchanged for thousands of years. The surrounding mountains ensure that this location provides the sweetest air, cleanest water and purest soil.

At the resort you can immerse yourself in nature while enjoying comfort and luxury. The bungalows have traditional bamboo construction with straw roofs. They are perfectly adapted for the climate. They remain cool in summer and warm in winter. At dusk you will be lulled to sleep by the relaxing sounds of flowing water and singing insects. You will be awoken at dawn by the sounds of singing birds, crowing cocks and the sound of rice being pounded far away in the villages. It is so enjoyable to stay here over the night.

Thai food is well-known for its spice and relish. You may find many fancy Thai restaurants in your home cities, but here we present to you genuine Thai cooking. We recommend our seafood delicacies, especially the shrimp with choo-chee sauce. Always fresh, we breed them ourselves in the running water in our own resort. You will be amazed at how fresh our provisions are. As we've mentioned earlier, we've taken special care to ensure that your experience makes you feel as though you are bathing in the nature. We choose our healthy and delicious menus to reinforce the experience.
